Rebecca Grochow Mishuris, MD, MPH, MS
Dr. Rebecca Mishuris is a primary care physician and clinical informatics leader who serves as Chief Health Information Officer and Vice President, Digital at Mass General Brigham, where she leads the strategy and governance of the electronic health record, digital tools, and clinical data used across the system. She chairs MGB’s Artificial Intelligence Governance Committee, guiding how the system evaluates and deploys AI in patient care, and she continues to practice general internal medicine, keeping her informatics work grounded in frontline care. Her research examines the intersection of technology and the quintuple aim of health care, with a current focus on the role of digital solutions in clinician wellbeing, quality, and equity.
Before joining MGB she was Chief Medical Information Officer for the Boston Medical Center Health System, where she advanced ambulatory informatics, population health analytics, and equity-focused technology and founded a clinical informatics training track for residents. She trained in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center, serving as Chief Medical Resident, and began her career as a business and technology consultant before entering medicine. Her academic work has focused on using technology to examine and reduce bias and disparities in care, including affiliations with university centers studying antiracism and computational science. A Fellow of and active leader in the American Medical Informatics Association and New England HIMSS, she also serves on MGB’s Chief Medical Officer Council and its Accountable Care Organization Board of Managers, has contributed to national informatics advisory groups, and has advised the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on healthcare AI strategy. Dr. Mishuris brings experience in digital health transformation, AI governance, data-driven care delivery, and the intersection of technology and health equity.
