Dr. Lilit Garibyan is a board-certified dermatologist and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, specializing in cutting-edge translational research and startup formation.
With 20+ years at Harvard, she’s trained students and faculty in problem-based innovation, leveraging multidisciplinary teams to address unmet medical needs and create solutions. Due to her unique training background as a physician, a scientist and an entrepreneur, Dr. Lilit Garibyan possesses a rare ability to bridge basic science, medical challenges, and commercialization, making her an asset on boards.
As an inventor with >18 pending and granted patents, Dr. Garibyan pioneered a platform injectable cooling technology, leading to 3 venture-backed startups. She is a cofounder for 2 of those startups and serves on SABs. Her inventions have secured over $100 million in VC funding, with breakthrough device designation from the FDA in 2024 for a novel pain therapy, with applications also in the treatment of sleep apnea, cardiovascular and metabolic disease.
