Debra Sloan
Debra Sloan is a seasoned financial executive and qualified financial expert with nearly three decades of experience at Mass General Brigham, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit academic healthcare systems with $20 billion in annual revenue. As Senior Vice President of Treasury, she oversees capital structure, liquidity, and risk management strategy across the enterprise. Debra has led over $10 billion in debt financings and $1.5 billion in interest rate swaps, maintaining “AA” category credit ratings while expanding the system’s capital portfolio and ensuring long-term financial resilience.
Recognized for her ability to synthesize complex financial, strategic, and operational considerations into actionable plans, Debra has guided leadership teams and boards through major financings, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. She developed the organization’s enterprise risk management framework and optimized liquidity across more than 50 operating entities—enabling over $1.5 billion in investments at higher returns. Her focus on financial sustainability and diversification has strengthened institutional stability and positioned Mass General Brigham for continued growth amid industry transformation.
Debra brings deep governance and fiduciary experience through her service on the Finance Committee of Controlled Risk Insurance Company (CRICO), the Investment Committee of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and as an Advisory Board member for Women in Public Finance. She previously served on the Board and Finance Committee of Aviv Centers for Living. A Chartered Financial Analyst and adjunct faculty member at Harvard Medical School, Debra combines technical financial expertise with a strategic mindset and a strong commitment to mission-driven leadership.
